Egg peritonitis

Egg peritonitis means there is infected egg material present in the abdomen of the laying bird. It can be primary, caused by bacteria such as E coli or Pasteurella, or secondary to for instance Corona nephrosis or vent pecking. Samples should be taken for bacteriology and sensitivity and, if possible, the cause treated or removed.
