Our opening times for Head Office and Dispensary are as follows:
Christmas Day: Closed
Boxing Day: Closed
Wednesday 27th: Open 8.30am until 5:00pm
Thursday 28th: Open 8.30am until 5:00pm
Friday 29th: Open 8.30am until 5:00pm
Monday 1st January: Closed
Tuesday 2nd January: Open as normal (except Scotland, when this is a bank holiday and will reopen as normal on Wednesday 3rd January)
An out of hours emergency service will be run by the vets during the periods we are closed. We can be contacted at any time by calling 01392 872932.
Please note that opening times for branches may vary between Christmas and New Year, please call in advance if you intend to visit a branch.
Dispensary Christmas and New Year Deliveries
To guarantee delivery before Christmas and New Year please place vaccine orders by 12pm on Wednesday 13th of December, normal service will resume on Tuesday 2nd January.
From Wednesday 13th December, please expect some delays if you want next-day delivery.
These dates are dictated by our manufacturers as they are closed during this period and although we carry medication and have a small amount of vaccine in stock, we strongly advise you order in advance of this date to guarantee delivery before Christmas and New Year.
Laboratory Opening Times and Testing
Please note that our external laboratories will also be closing during the Christmas period; we would therefore advise that you ring your local practice to discuss submissions ahead of posting any samples so that they can advise which lab this needs to be sent to.
The Wem laboratory will continue to receive samples for bacteriology, water and WEC testing during the festive period, however, to ensure that samples are tested within the suitable timeframe, please make sure that samples are posted on or before 19th December to ensure that they have arrived in Wem by 20th December. Anything received after 20th December will not be tested until 27th December and will be tested at the appropriate vets discretion, with a derogation if required.
Samples sent to the Nutwell lab will not be tested between 21st December – 2nd January, therefore please send samples to the Wem laboratory.
During the Christmas period, it is important to ensure that any routine testing, such as Salmonella continues, therefore please contact the Dispensary team to order any testing materials or request submission forms that are required during the festive period.
