Helen has been with St David’s Poultry Team since May 2010. Helen graduated from Glasgow University in 1991. Whilst she was a student, she worked on a grandparent broiler breeder farm. After her graduation and 7 years working in a mixed practice, she worked at the Veterinary Laboratories Agency (VLA) in Thirsk for several years. Here she was involved with production animal pathology and disease investigation and played a part in the Louping Ill control programme on the North York Moors. Whilst working at the AHVLA she was a member of the UK Avian Expert Group and project lead for poultry compartments for GB. She has a special interest in grouse disease being involved in research into ‘bulgy eye’.
Helen is now based at the Cumbrian base of St David’s Poultry Team.
