Ben grew up in the heart of the Southdowns National Park, West Sussex. He graduated from the University of Exeter in 2009 with a degree in Conservation Biology & Evolution Ecology. Following a year of milking dairy cows, Ben went on to study Veterinary Medicine at the Royal Veterinary College, London. After graduating, Ben spent a year in a farm animal practice working with dairy and beef clients across Dorset. Interests in poultry and game bird medicine soon became his primary focus and he joined St David’s Poultry Team in June 2016.
Away from veterinarian duties Ben enjoys spending his time at sea – sailing, kite surfing and swimming. He plays hockey regularly through the winter months and enjoys working on his classic Citroen 2cv.
